Victory is Ours!

Yesterday was the last day of my internship. Each summer, the agency has an internship competition. There are three teams, and each develops an advertising campaign and presents it to the client, as well as agency executives. My team, Rising Sun, won this summer. It was amazing.

After the presentations, all of the interns and some full-timers went out. We ended up at a karaoke bar and had a blast. Here's a video of my teamate, Mickey, and mentor, Phil, in all of their karaoke glory.

Apple Store

Went and checked out the new Apple Store on Fifth Ave. today. The store itself is underground, so you enter through this huge cube. It really wasn't any different than other Apple Store's inside, but if you have never been to one of them people, you should definitely go check it out. Well, if you're a Mac Geek anyways.

P.S.1

A few friends and I went to P.S.1 today. It was amazing and I recommend anyone interested in art, music, partying or hippies should check it out.

They serve beer there, but of course you can sneak in your own, as we
did. It's definitely the economical way to go. When you walk in, it is a huge dance party with literally hundreds of people. There is this crazy wading pool thing that everyone is dancing in and having a good time.

The art is inside the building, and is very comtemporary and modern. There is alot of video installations, which are weird, and alot of the art seems too out there, even to an art director. But it is definitely worth taking a look at.

The best advice I can give someone heading to P.S.1 is to get in lin
e for the bathroom at the first sign that you may have to go. The lines are rediculously long, but entertaining because of all the other drunk fools who are there. This sculpture is in the basement. It's a woman taking a piss, sort of reverse fountain. This sculpture moved us so that we had to urinate right then and there in the basement, along with a bunch of other line dodgers.

Sunday Stroll

With not much to do today, I went into the city and walked from Union Square up to Bryant Park and then around to 33rd St and Park Ave. It was sort of uneventful, but I did get a few good pics along the way. Enjoy.

Temperatures reached 93 today in the city, but somehow I stumbled upon these Christmas Carolers in a store window.

These ribbons were hung along a fence outside of a church. They are titled "Prayers for Peace". Each gold ribbon represents one service man or woman who lost their life in Iraq. Each blue ribbon represents one Iraqi who lost their life there during the war. Each green ribbon represents an individual prayer for peace.

This is a view of the Empire State Building from inside Madison Square Park. FYI, the park smelled like pee.

This is the reflection of buildings on windows of another building in Herald Square.

Working Class Hero

Hard to believe, but I'm already two weeks into my eight week internship with Publicis. It's going good so far. I've been working on layouts and ideas for brands such as Beefeater and Heineken. We also have an intern project, which is to put together a campaign for Vault. I'm hoping to be able to stay on at the agency after the internship with a full-time position in the creative department, so we will see if that will happen. Cross your fingers.
