Subway Hero Wesley Autrey on Deal or No Deal

Continuing his string of fame, freebies and lifetime chances, New York City subway hero Wesley Autrey is set to appear on Deal or No Deal next Monday. The preview for the episode looks crazy with Autrey receiving offers of $305,000 before his friend/wife faints. I love this guy, he really is my hero. Watch him go for the million May 21st at 8pm on NBC.

UPDATE: Autrey had a pretty good run at the million. He made it to the three final cases and a $305,000 offer before choosing the million dollar case. He ended up going home with $25, but got a free Jeep out of the deal.

  2. It's a shamed!
Why didn't this guy take the $305 deal??

  3. I don't think he was greedy, I just think he didn't care that much. Not once during the show did he even consider taking an offer. I think he was there just to play it out and for the experience.

  4. He said he wanted to buy his family a house. He sure lost sight of that by gambling away a lot of money. "A fool and his money are soon parted." Brought to you by NBC

  5. I felt so bad for the family's poor choices. They obviously could have used the $300,000 +. And then they end up with $25! And a car. I agree with a fool and his money are soon parted. I guess he can't be a hero and wealthy. With $25, they can't even fill up the gas tank in their new car. And what was up with the niece fallig on the floor? So church.

  6. The niece falling was a bit much. She kept telling him to keep going too! Had he taken the $300,000, or even some of the earlier offers, they could all be gettin' their hair did right now!

  7. Yea, he definitely should have taken the $305,000. You could even tell Howie was trying to tell him to get the hell out of there.

  8. I'm sorry, but this is why the working class hardly ever rises out of their status, because they keep making dumb decisions. His whole family urged him on. It was ridiculous--the odds weren't in his favor, yet he still managed to get the offer to 300k. Somebody in his family should have told him, dude, take the money!

  9. yea i just watched that and seriously felt for the family. They look like they are from the lower income bracket, and he cant even make this decision. I seriously am so dumbfounded at his choice.

I am sorry to say it, but

this is the mind of a black man.

  10. Not really, more like the mind of most men (and women) today. I grew up gambling, and I know when to play & when to get the heck out, and I'd be friggin' thrilled to have had the 98K.

And in my mind the blue collar worker SHOULD be more thankful, but seems like they are determined to stay poor, and never get ahead in life.

I've managed to take part-time gambling & have the money to buy the cars I own, payments on the house, and the computers & desks I'm typing this message from! Now, that dude's got to go to the library just to read what we're saying... DUMP THOSE RELATIVES!!!!!

  11. Yea, I think sometimes in this show, the experience and the excitement overtake the rational thinking of the player. Also, group think comes into play when you have friends and relatives advising you and a studio audience cheering behind you.

As is the case with a lot of the contestants, he definitely should have stopped.

  12. People are talking like he was dumb, if he were white hedve been dumb but he was just a typical nigger

  13. He was greedy and an idiot! $305k can buy anything. It gives you more than a car. He ends up with a measly $25. It's not enough money to fill up a gas tank. He lives in the worst city to drive cars since it's too crowded and transit efficient. And worse, he's stuck with paying the IRS for that car.

  14. Another thing, nobody knows what's inside the cases and the Monty Hall Problem does not apply. He would be better off winning a goat.

  15. you guys are all FUCKED
man i JUST finished watching this show and who cares if he only went home with 25. like man, hes a hero and atleast he went home with something. i realize he could have gone home with much much more but honestly, he wanted to keep going. I would have to and you probably would have to. so shut the fuck up and dont say anything unless your in that situation.

  16. I feel bad for him. He should've taken the DEAL of $305,000. That would've change his life.

He received the bad news from the banker after he open the million dollar case. The offer drop very big from $305,000 to $5,000. After turning down $5,000 as the final offer, he ended up with only $25. But however as a hero, he received the 2008 Jeep Patriot. It's valued at $24,710 plus the $25 he won with his winnings altogether of $24,735.

  18. ,I, for one, am glad he lost. What a greedy family. The network rewards his actions with a chance to change his life...even Howie kept asking the audience to be silent and kept urging the guy to take the money. He scoffed at 93000, laughed at 140, mocked 200000, and turned howie down who was really pushing him to take the 305000 deal...typical though "Goes fer it baybee im's'a feelin it," says his wife as his gangsta son agrees...the (ahem) "community" is used to gettin dey checks paid out be it disability, welfare, or unemployment...don't think it clicked that no, they don't get checks for nothin from these offices...This guy was already rewarded by countless other entities...2 cars, tens of thousands of dollars, sold a book and movie deal, Ellen sent him 5000 in gift cards, the mayor 10000, free computers for all his kids every 3 years...He deserved major kudos, not fame enough to live off of...DOND was a lesson for him. Not to be greedy and try to milk a selfless act until it becomes selfish greed for rewards. 305000 not enough to pay him back for his "selfless" (puke) act? Serves him right.
