This was the first I was ever in NYC for September 11th. It was a bit strange in some ways, but seemed like just another day in others. Passing fellow New Yorkers on the street and interacting with them today had a little less of the coldness that is typical and a little more of the humanity that became so prominent in the weeks and months following 9-11-2001. This sense of community and relation to each other seems to be less evident with each passing anniversary. 9/11 may have taught us a lot about ourselves, but we may be forgetting it all far too fast.I took this picture tonight from the corner of my block in Brooklyn (this is also one of the first pictures with my new camera).
