This was the first I was ever in NYC for September 11th. It was a bit strange in some ways, but seemed like just another day in others. Passing fellow New Yorkers on the street and interacting with them today had a little less of the coldness that is typical and a little more of the humanity that became so prominent in the weeks and months following 9-11-2001. This sense of community and relation to each other seems to be less evident with each passing anniversary. 9/11 may have taught us a lot about ourselves, but we may be forgetting it all far too fast.
I took this picture tonight from the corner of my block in Brooklyn (this is also one of the first pictures with my new camera).
