Please Piss on Jackass #2 Advertising

First it was P Diddy pissing on YouTube, now you have the chance to piss on Jackass #2. Young Manhattanite came across this little gem in a New York City restroom. The only problem I can see, however, is that the copy on the ad is so small, one would have to stick their head into the urinal in order to read it. Cool, attention getting idea though.

Everyone's Hero Should Be Seen by Everyone

I've seen a few previews for this movie on TV, and I have to say I'm thinking about seeing it. (I would wait to dive for the $2.99 DVD in the Wal-Mart Bargain Bin, but the movie is only in theaters)

It's probably going to do horribly at the box office, but here's three reasons to see this movie:
1. It's about the Yankees
2. It will have animation of New York City landmarks
3. sorry, I can't think of any others

Overheard in New York is Awesome

I stumbled upon this site quite a while ago, but we somehow grew apart and didn't see each other for months. Recently, however, Overheard in New York came back into my life, and it has been a great few days, so I thought I would share.

The site just allows users to post random conversation outakes that they overhear on the streets of New York City. They offer entertaining insight into the mindset of the New Yorker.

One of their recent bests:

NYU girl: I would totally pay her back and all, but...
NYU guy: But what?
NYU girl: But she's a fucking cokehead is what! If anyone's gonna buy coke with my money, it will be me.

Sightseeing Socrates Sculpture Park

Checked out Socrates Sculpture Park in Astoria, Queens today. I'd never really been to a sculpture park before, but I like art, so I was curious. It was not what I expected, however. It was quite small, and it seemed to be under construction. Most of the sculptures were surrounded by caution tape.

The sculptures themselves were not anything special either. A friend who was with me made the accurate observation, "I could paint a rock and throw it down on the ground there and it would be considered a sculpture."

The park was something to see, but is not really recommended. The area it is located though was fun, lots of parks and
opportunities to walk to the East River for views of Roosevelt Island and Manhattan.

Crocodile Hunter Killed by Stingray

Crikey! Steve Irwin, the Crocodile Hunter, was killed today in Australia during a diving expedition. The cause of death was "stingray strike to the chest".

Not surprising that he was killed by a wild animal, but it is surprising that it wasn't a crocodile that commited the crime. Death by stingray? Come on, who does that?

Movin' on Up, to the Queens Side

Just a quick posting, pointing out an article about Astoria, the hippest real estate market in the five burroughs. I dedicate this posting to 'Victoria from Astoria'.
