Zenkichi Review

Last night I checked out Zenkichi, a new Japanese restaurant located in Williamsburg, with a few friends. The place was really cool and the atmosphere was unlike any other restaurant I have been to in New York. You are very secluded at an intimate table, which makes the sharing small-plates dinning experience even better. The wait staff only visits your table when you ring them using an electronic buzzer in your table (this causes alot of arguing over who gets to ring the bell), which is nice. Unless you are a Japanese regular, be prepared to experiment a bit with the food choices. Most of what we had was good, but a few will not be on my greatest hits list. The cream cheese tempura, however, is a must. I recommend Zenkichi, but I am not in love with it as I am with Klong.
