Super Bowl SuperVote is Super Stupid

This video is to promote SuperVote, some YouTube style voting of the Super Bowl commercials after the game this Sunday. Thing is, the video nor the description with it give any clues as to how to do this, where, etc. etc. Maybe SuperVote should actually watch some of the commercials and learn a thing or two about good advertising.

Orkin Catches Lots of Bugs

I love creative media when it makes sense. Exactly what this Orkin outdoor thing does. The Orkin logo is made out of sticky flypaper and posted clean. Over time, enough nasty insects crawl across the ad and get stuck to form the logo. Great, great work. Would love to see a time-lapse of one of these.

Windows Vista has Gone Crazy

So, this whole Vista launch is getting out of control. My last straw? Stumbling upon these Vista branded escalator bolts that were found at the launch presentation last night at Nokia Theatre in Times Square, New York City. I'm all for branding the hell out of things, but this is just insane. I hate that damn logo.

Tyra Banks is pissed after blunt headlines ran along side a picture of her in a bathing suit, appearing to have gained some weight. She has even gone so far as to address the issue on her show sporting the same swimsuit that is shown in the shot. Calm down and let it go already.

Graffiti as Advertising

I came across these two graffiti type ads yesterday while walking through New York City's Meatpacking District at Washington St. and Little West 12th St. The ads are graffiti work on the side of a brick building, and both done by the same people, Tats Cru. The Ford Edge one uses more of a typical graffiti style, while the Starveillance looks almost exactly like a normal billboard would. I like them a lot. They make the advertisements more of a piece of art than just an image trying to sell you something.

Windows Vista Causes Circus Insanity

These images are from a billboard outside the Terminal Building in New York City for the launch of Windows Vista today. They got all Cirque du Soleil on our asses and had these crazy wire flyers running all around the billboard making the Windows logo with fabric tarps. Crazy advertising.
